During league terms, there will be separate school team practices in the mornings before school, which will be of no cost to the parent.
The championships are for any player who can serve and keep score. The player does not have to receive coaching from MCTennis in order to participate.
The championships take place twice a year (in the second and fourth term) according to the “Spider-draw Knock-out System”. It is the most accurate way of drawing up a ranking list. The majority of clubs, schools and other junior tournaments use the same system.
After the championships the players have the opportunity to challenge each other (according to the challenge procedure). These challenges are also excellent preparation for the leagues.
The primary school leagues take place during the first and third terms and are for the following age groups:
- Under-11 Boys (Grade 1 to 5 boys can participate in this league)
- Under-11 Girls (Grade 1 to 5 girls can participate in this league)
- Boys Open
- Girls Open
A Family Day is a social day held once a year where the parent and child play in a team against other parent-and-child pairs. The main purpose of this day is to spend quality time with the parents and children. The annual Tennis Award can also forms part of this social event.
